When is the best time to apply for my visa to Nigeria?
Nigerian Visa for Spanish Citizens | The best time to apply for your Nigerian visa is 1-2 months before your travel date. However, if you do not have much time, we may be able to process your visa with a faster service as long as the consulate allows it.

Do I have to send my passport to get a visa to Nigeria? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will have to send your original passport, not a copy of it. The Nigeria visa is stamped onto one of your passport pages. Visas can not be processed without your original passport. Due to the importance of your passport, we suggest that you submit your application by a secure method, such as a courier.

How to Get Nigerian Visa From Spain

Requirements for a Business trip to Nigeria for Spanish citizens

  1. PassportYou must send your original passport. The passport must:
    • Have a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of entry
    • Have at least two contiguous blank pages
  2. Copy of passportA legible photocopy of the applicant’s passport information and data sheet (s)
  3. PhotographsYou have to attach two color photos. The photograph must:
    • Be original and printed on photographic paper
    • Be size 35mm by 45mm
    • Have white background
    • Having been taken from the front, without dark glasses, earrings, necklaces or any garment that prevents the identification of the person
    • Have been taken in the last 6 months
    • You should not wear white clothing, only colored clothing
  4. Travel reservation
    • A copy of the roundtrip flight reservation, it is not necessary to be confirmed.
  5. Business cover letterYou must provide a business cover letter from the applicant’s Spanish employer. The letter must be printed on letterhead that shows the postal address of the company in Spain. You can use our sample business cover letter which can be found here .

    All business presentation letters should be addressed to the corresponding consulate. The address of the consulate can be found here

    In addition to the language provided in the form letter, your business cover letter must:

    • Not be more than 30 days old
    • If you do not work for any company, you must attach the income statement for the last year and a letter explaining that you are self-employed
    • Specify the same type of visa (number of entries and validity) indicated in the application form. The type of visa will be granted depending on what is specified in the letter.
    • Indicate as reason for travel only business meetings
    • Indicate name and senior position of the signer
  6. Letter of InvitationLetter of invitation from the company to visit: The letter must:
    • Be written on letterhead
    • Be written in English
    • Have the stamp and signature of the company
    • Include contact details of the inviting company
    • Include the applicant’s name and passport number
    • Indicate the profession of the applicant
    • Specify the purpose of the trip
    • Indicate that the inviting company will make sure that the traveler complies with immigration regulations and will be responsible in case of non-compliance, this should be explained by the following sentence: “We accept full immigration responsibilities during his / her stay in Nigeria”
    • Be written in english
    • Indicate as reason for travel only business meetings

    Attach a copy of the passport identification page of the signer of the invitation letter and if he is a foreign resident, a copy of his residence permit

  7. Financial solvency testCopy of recent bank statement stamped by the bank stating an amount that proves financial solvency to make the trip
  8. Company registrationA copy of the “Certificate of Incorporation” of the inviting company in Nigeria
  9. Visa application formThe Nigerian consulate has established a visa system based on online application and payment. The application form must be completed on an official website and then printed. When completing the online application form, the visa fees must be paid at the time with a credit or debit card that is compatible with “Verified by Visa”. The consulate will not accept documentation if the application has not been made. visa and online payment.

    To do this, use the URL link https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/and follow the instructions. You will find more information about how to manage the online application in the section of the visa guide entitled “Online application process for Nigeria” Please make sure once the process has been completed, to print the following documents from the online portal and include them with the rest of the documentation required by the consulate:

    • “Visa Acknowledgment Slip”
    • The “Visa Payment Slip”
    • All four pages of the online form.

  11. Consular FeesThe amount of the consular fee and the administrative fee (€ 50.00) to be paid online are not included in this price.The consular fee and the administrative fee vary depending on the nationality of the traveler and the type of visa required. A list of fees can be found online at the bottom of the Nigerian Immigration Service website at the following link: https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/pages/visaguidelines
  12. Visa ConditionsBusiness visas are granted only when the purpose of the visit is to attend business meetings . This information must be consistent and the same in:
    • The visa application form
    • The cover letter
    • Invitation letter

    Any specified activity other than meetings or business visits will be rejected by the consulate and will require a temporary work visa. In the same way, applicants who have technical professions will be denied a business visa. In this case, the entire process must be carried out again and the fees previously paid for the application will not be returned.

  13. Visa validityThe maximum validity of the business visa is 6 months. Visas valid for one year are only granted if the applicant has an official letter or in special cases. The validity of the visa and number of entries will depend on the authorization received from Nigeria
  14. Additional photocopies
    • Two legible copies of the inviting person’s passport information page (in case the inviting person is not Nigerian, two copies of the residence permit in Nigeria will need to be provided)

  15. Important note
    • The first entry to the country must be made within the first 90 days from the date of issuance of the visa
    • It is mandatory to have the yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter the country. The authorities can demand it at the entrance
    • You must carry with you the copy of the invitation letter from the company in Nigeria and must show it to the immigration authorities at the entrance of the country

Requirements for a tourist trip to Nigeria Tourist Visa Requirements for Spanish citizens

  6. Employment situationLetter from the company the applicant works for. In case of students, letter from the school / college / university. The letter must:
    • Be written in english
    • Be addressed to the “Nigerian Embassy in Spain”
    • Be printed on letterhead
    • Include the applicant’s full name and passport number
    • Include the date of incorporation and position of the applicant in the company / university
    • Specify that the applicant is currently hired / enrolled
    • Specify the purpose of the trip
    • Specify the vacation period of the applicant
    • Be signed by the person responsible for the applicant
    • Not be more than 30 days old
  7. Letter of InvitationIf you are not staying at a hotel, an invitation letter is required. The letter must:
    • Include the full address, contact information and copy of the passport of the person inviting you
    • Indicate the profession of the invitee and the guest
    • Specify the purpose and duration of the trip, specify that the invitee is responsible for ensuring that the guest complies with the migration regulations in the country
    • Be signed by the person who invites you
    • Not be more than 30 days old
    • Be written in english

    The invitation will not be valid if said invitee does not have residence in Nigeria
