Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, has regained freedom 48 hours after abduction.
Okungbowa was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening in a suburb along Benin-Agbor road in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State. Unfortunately, he lost his driver in the process.
A family source who confirmed his freedom said the head of service was released unhurt on Monday night.
The source said ransom was paid by the Okungbowa family and the state government to secure his release from his abductors, even though the amount paid was not disclosed.
“We just want to thank God that our brother has been set free and in good health condition,” the source said.
